Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association

The WIO Journal of Marine Science was founded in 2002. It is a peer- reviewed journal that is published by WIOMSA twice a year in both printed and on-line formats. The journal publishes original research articles dealing with all aspects of marine sciences and coastal management.

theWIOMSA magazine: people and the environment is produced bi-annually .The magazine covers stories on the marine and coastal environment of the WIO-region, written by WIOMSA members and partners. It uses the language of popular media to target stakeholders, captains of industry, decision makers, academicians and students. It is distributed free of charge to paid WIOMSA members and partners. Advertisements are invited from projects, programs and companies.

Every year, we publish a report highlighting our activities and programs as well as the successes of WIOMSA and our partners. Since 2005, we have made downloadable and online copies available. Special Issues: WIOMSA has on a number of occasions coordinated the production of Special issues of Renowned Journals such as Ambio, Estuarine Coastal and Shelf Sciences and Ocean and Coastal Management.
