Email Print PDF

The Marine Research Grant (MARG) Programme provides young and upcoming scientists with a reliable and flexible mechanism to turn their ideas into research projects and also offers opportunity for presentation of research results at various regional and international fora.

WIOMSA is calling for research proposals for consideration for funding support under the MARG programme. Three types of grants are awarded:

MARG-I: Awarded to individual scientists to carry out well-defined research activities in their countries/institutions.

MARG-II: Awarded to individual scientists for the purpose of sharing or gaining technical experience as well as data processing and manuscript writeup within the WIO region and, where necessary, outside the region.

MARG-III: Travel support to individual researchers to attend scientific meetings and conferences, giving them opportunity to present their work and learn from others.

Those interested in obtaining MARG support are invited to submit research proposals that are comprehensive, well justified and argued, and that contain sufficient detail on all the items included in the application form.

The deadline for submission of MARG I applications is 30th March 2013. Submissions for MARG II will be accepted from January to September 2013 while MARG III proposals may be submitted at any time.
