Seventh WIOMSA Scientific Symposium

The WIOMSA Scientific Symposium is a biennial event, which has become a premier regional event since it offers a unique opportunity for exchange of ideas and realistic examination of the current state of knowledge of coastal and marine resources and their management. It enjoys an international reputation for excellence through the active participation of international delegates and keynote presenters as well as prominent regional and upcoming scientists. The Symposium brings together social and natural scientists, practitioners, non-governmental organizations, intergovernmental organizations, funding agencies and decision makers.

The Seventh WIOMSA Scientific Symposium was held in Mombasa, Kenya from 24-29 October 2011. The Symposium was organized jointly by WIOMSA and the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI).
