The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Coordinator, Research Programmes. Based in Zanzibar, this position provides an opportunity to provide scientific leadership and technical support to all WIOMSA scientific research activities.

The roles and responsibilities of the Coordinator range from the day-to-day coordination, supervision and management of competitive research grant programmes to communication with grantees, members of the Programme Committee, partners and donors. The Coordinator is expected to be involved in outreach and advocacy activities, and to take the lead in preparing scientific reports that detail the science activities of WIOMSA and its partners.
